On Sunday night, my six year old comes out of the bathroom (in the evening after he'd gotten into his PJ's, went tinkle and brushed his teeth) and asks me and Chris "what would happen if a bottle got flushed down the toilet?". Of course the first thing I asked him was why he was asking that question...not really wanting to hear the answer. I keep several things on the back of the sink in the bathroom such as both boys toothpaste (the baby has toddler toothpaste and the older one will only brush with this putrid strawberry flavored kind), my deodortant, hair gel and a few other things.
He proceeds to tell us how a "white bottle" fell into the toilet as he was flushing and went down. I ran over to the sink to try and figure out what it was, but I couldn't put my finger on it. Then my kiddo told me it said "Dove" on the bottle. It was my stick of deodorant. Oh crap. We tried plunging it and Chris tried sticking a wire hanger in there to get it out, but it wasn't gonna happen.
Yesterday I had a plumber come out and he basically had to take apart the whole toilet and vacuum it out. It took him about 1/2 hour, but he finally got it. Thank god. We have another bathroom upstairs, so it wasn't an emergency or anything, but it was still a major pain in the ass.
I still can't imagine how it could have accidentially fallen in there, so I assume he put it in there to see what would happen if he tried to flush it. Little boys.

Oh dear! I don't have brothers, so boy stuff is all new to me. My son is still only a year old, but I am afraid of what the future holds!
Following you back :)
sounds like something our family would go through.
The joys of kiddies!!!
Oh no! Glad it got fixed but what a pain! Thanks for stopping by...I am following back :)
hahaha. I have a friend that's a plumber and the stories I hear of things flushed would horrify you. Be thankful it was just deodorant!

Wow! I wouldn't think you could flush something that big. Obviously I am wrong and have never tried, nor do I plan on trying that experiment.
I will add 'learn how to take a toilet apart' to my list of mommy skills to develop!
omg that's a little funny but I'm so glad it wasn't me!
Following you back and this post scares me to death. My Little Bit is six months old and already a ham. Boys are so busy and they get into everything. I have a feeling it's only going to get worse, le sigh...

Hey, your quick thinking saved you a ass load of headache!
My neighbors boys felt their Ninja Turtles belonged well, in the sewer, so they flushed like three of them.
A plumber and a back hoe in the street later.........
LOL. At least he told you about it!

have an awesome week!
I love how we use "accidentally" so loosely. Here's how I use it: I wait until the kids go to bed before I throw out their art projects. Then if they happen to see them in the trash the next day, I say ...I don't know how it got in there... it must have "accidentally" fallen into the trash!! Oopsy!

Well at least your boy told you what happen immediately and not lie about it. He must have sense it that something bad going to happen to the toilet if he didn't tell you. Should praise him for that. Most little boys would just walk away and pretend nothing happen.
